After a user announced they were "stealing" an AI-generated character design on the assumption it has no copyright protection, law blogger technollama pushed back: the endless repetition of braindead social media slogans has created false certainty that AI-generated characters are automatically uncopyrighted, and he warns that one day someone will get a nasty surprise when that assumption fails.
