Beyond data centers: EVs and robots will need the same power infrastructure
FinanceYF5 · x · 2026-10-10
Parts 6–7 of the Texas data center power series: The US plans 86GW of new capacity this year (43.4GW solar, 24.3GW storage, 11.8GW wind, 6.3GW gas, 0 nuclear), but China produces 80%+ of global solar modules and cells. Winners will be companies integrating mature hardware, orchestration software and new business models, or deploying solid-state transformers to break grid bottlenecks. Data centers are just the first to hit these limits — manufacturing, electrification and robotics will need the same infrastructure.
