Vibe42 Connects Your Phone to Your PC to Run Claude Code Remotely, Zero Config, No Lock-in
yihui_indie · x · 2026-10-10
Developer @jiachengai has launched Vibe42, a remote development tool that links your phone directly to your home or office computer, letting you drive Claude Code and other coding agents from anywhere. The author uses it daily on commutes and in coffee shops.
Key highlights:
- Zero-config access: connects automatically once the host is installed — no public IP, router setup, or port forwarding needed, and no vendor lock-in
- Agents run natively: Claude Code, Aider, Codex, Cline, OpenDevin, or custom CLI scripts all run on your machine; API keys and code never leave local hardware, with end-to-end encryption
- Battery-friendly with push notifications: killing the app frees memory and CPU, while task progress arrives via native APNs/FCM push
- Terminal-first: macOS/Linux host + iOS/Android clients + Web PWA; sessions survive screen locks, network switches, and device changes, with Ghostty-engine 120Hz rendering and CJK font optimization
