Amp adds Claude Code mode, letting users plug in Claude Pro/Max subscriptions for free
Amp (Sourcegraph) · rss · 2026-10-10
Amp, Sourcegraph's AI coding tool, now supports driving it with a Claude Pro/Max subscription, free for all users.
- Start a new thread and pick Mode > Claude Code; you'll be prompted to link your Claude subscription on first use.
- Under the hood the mode runs on the Claude Agent SDK instead of Amp's own agent, while keeping Amp's full feature set: orbs, runners, thread sharing, portals, multiplayer, thread-to-thread messaging and orchestration.
- Amp reinforces its bring-your-own-subscription model — reuse your existing Claude plan and pay nothing extra for Amp.
