Anthropic launches Claude dynamic workflows: up to 1,000 parallel agents per run
xiaohu · x · 2026-10-10
Anthropic rolled out dynamic workflows for Claude Managed Agents (public beta): the main agent writes a scheduling program that orchestrates up to 1,000 parallel agents in stages, passing intermediate results and handling retries.
Key capabilities:
- Task-generated flows: the program decides next steps from prior results, with review/retry rules
- Staged parallelism: materials split across reading agents, then merged by reviewer agents
- Isolated chats, shared files: each agent keeps its own history but shares the sandbox workspace and credentials
- Background execution: server-side runs let the main agent keep responding to users
- Progress & budget control: developers inspect stage events and cap spend via session budgets
Demo case: screening 300 contracts for change-of-control clauses—reading agents return contract IDs, clause text and verdicts, reviewer agents verify and merge (41 hits in the demo).
