Fireworks AI discloses security incident: unauthorized use of internal credentials, customers notified

Fireworks AI co-founder Lin Qiao confirmed an October 6 security incident in which an unauthorized third party used internal Fireworks credentials to access secrets used in evaluation jobs.
The company says it contained the incident, revoked the credentials, and directly notified all identified affected customers. The investigation is ongoing with a cybersecurity firm engaged. Qiao pledged transparency and said Fireworks will tighten access controls, review how secrets are exposed to evaluation jobs, and strengthen its overall security posture. A security bulletin has been published.
