Director Jeff T. Thomas (aka Jeff Synthesized) won the inaugural $2.5 million Future Vision XPRIZE with an AI-generated proof-of-concept trailer for "The Gifted," created around the prompt of depicting "a future worth building toward" in three minutes. The story follows an 11-year-old boy who rebuilds his late mother with AI, who quietly begins saving lives. Judges included Neil deGrasse Tyson, Neal Stephenson, Google's Mira Lane, Salesforce's John Zissimos, and Rod Roddenberry. Thomas hopes it will change minds about AI.
