Microsoft launches Database Hub in Fabric: one place to detect, investigate and automate database ops
adnan_hashmi · x · 2026-10-10
Microsoft introduced Database Hub (Preview) in Microsoft Fabric, giving database teams a single place to detect, investigate, act on, and automate responses to issues across their database estate. Key capabilities:
- Discover databases across Azure, Fabric, on-premises and supported multicloud environments
- Prioritize performance, security, utilization and best-practice findings
- Investigate real-time and historical telemetry without switching portals
- Collaborate via saved/shared estate views and take guided action through built-in experiences, tools and agents
- Extend database signals into Fabric, Power BI, OneLake and custom workflows
Access reuses existing Microsoft Entra ID and Azure RBAC; discovery alone grants no extra access. Beyond the Fabric portal, data is available via ready-made skills for agentic observability and integrations like SSMS and the MSSQL extension for VS Code.
