CSProfKGD · x · 2026-10-10
Apple ML Research is hiring PhD research interns to work on efficient multimodal models and video understanding, with publication as a goal. Internships run 4–10 months (Nov 2026–Sep 2027); applicants should tag "efficient-ml" in their materials.
The work builds on FastVLM (CVPR 2025), which improves VLM accuracy-latency tradeoffs via hybrid vision encoding. Checkpoints (MLX, CoreML) are on HuggingFace, with a real-time browser demo using transformers.js and WebGPU. The companion image encoder MobileCLIP2 is also open-sourced and received TMLR Featured certification.
