Two-layer memory for a Grok bot: chat memory plus an always-on Hermes agent on a VM
alexcovo_eth · x · 2026-10-10
A developer fixed the "day one every chat" problem of AI assistants by giving his Grok bot Ricky Bobby two memory layers: chat memory for user preferences, rules and writing style, plus a Nous Research Hermes agent running on an always-on VM that tracks the bot's own actions—research it kicked off, files it wrote, jobs still running after the call ends. Same model, but it now feels like working with a teammate who was actually there rather than using a tool.
