An argument that SWE interviews can shrink to just two technical rounds:
- System design: can you articulate ideas and actually engineer something
- Onsite project: build a real thing with agents, testing whether you can translate intent into high-quality outcomes
Everything else is no longer necessary. The quoted post adds that teams too busy 'doing their normal job' to experiment with AI are preparing to be replaced, arguing AI use is no longer optional for employment and offering advice on hiring AI-first candidates in 2026.
