UK move to curb non-competes won't fix AI talent gap, DeepMind VP says SF still wins

UK politician Andy Burnham pledged to limit non-compete clauses, saying they should no longer bar promising startups from hiring. Cris Bodnar, DeepMind's VP, responded that many in the field have asked for this, but an identical AI lab in SF vs London would still hire talent far faster in SF—making competition impossible.
