A Claude Code changelog tracker adds metadata for 2.1.296:
- Prompt files down 9 (-32.1%), prompt tokens down 55,053 (-72.9%)
- Token mix flipped: tools rose from 25.3% to 79.6% while system dropped from 74.7% to 20.4% — prompts slimmed, content moved into tool definitions
- Removed env var CLAUDEAUTOBACKGROUNDTASKS and model claude-checkpoint-index-H; added new model entries
- Released just 8h40m after 2.1.295, bundle +338.7 kB (+0.6%)
