Qwen Image 2.1 Turbo produces unnatural, over-sharpened skin textures in tests
AIPnely · reddit · 2026-10-10
Testing Qwen Image 2.1 Turbo BF16 in ComfyUI on an RTX 5090, a user found that photorealistic portraits consistently show overly sharp, rough, HDR-like skin textures with exaggerated pores and wrinkles.
Configurations tried — 8 steps Euler at CFG 1.0, and the Dynamic Scheduler with base shift 0.5 / max shift 0.9 and exponential time shifting — showed no real improvement, while the 25-step Full BF16 model produces noticeably more natural skin.
The poster is trying to determine whether this is an inherent Turbo limitation or a sampling configuration issue, and whether Turbo needs a different sigma schedule.
