Anthropic ships Claude multiagent orchestration with subagents and dynamic workflows
brada · x · 2026-10-10
Anthropic's platform docs add Multiagent Orchestration: one agent coordinates others in a single session, running in parallel with isolated contexts to improve quality and completion time.
- Two delegation modes: subagents — the agent delegates and reads reports, with threads kept alive for follow-ups; dynamic workflows — the agent writes a program that orchestrates many agents in the background, passing context programmatically so the main thread stays free; runs are archived server-side.
- An advisor model can be consulted; system prompts guide when to use runs, and the agent pool can be restricted.
- Getting started: pick a quickstart template in Console, or run /claude-api managed-agents-onboard in Claude Code. Docs include guidance on when multiagent setups fit (and when they don't).
