MIRA agent refines musical intent, lifting open-source music gen to Suno-level
Zekai Liu · hf · 2026-10-10
Researchers introduce MIRA, a Musical Intent Refinement Agent for aligning text-to-music generation with user intent.
- Motivation: global text-audio relevance scores miss failures in specific requirements (instrumentation, structure, rhythm, mood) and implicit intent in underspecified prompts.
- Approach: intent alignment is formulated as satisfying per-request rubrics of verifiable items; they build MuRA-Bench from real platform requests curated by music experts. MIRA grounds intent into rubrics, then performs budget-bounded prompt-revision search with trajectory-aware tree search, generating and verifying iteratively.
- Results: across open-source and commercial backends, MIRA lets an open-source generator match representative commercial systems like Suno and Mureka.
