Overnight Claude batch job burned $2,500 producing 96 identical video clips

Reddit user vedantk21 gave Claude an overnight video batch job—two keyframes, one camera move, lots of variations—and woke up to 96 clips of the same man walking through the same door and a $2,500 bill. The mistake: he never pinned the model. The project default was Seedance 2.0 Pro at 1080p, roughly 25x the per-second cost of his cheap 480p scratch model Seedance 1.5, so the agent ran four hours at full resolution until the budget ran dry. His takeaway: when batching AI video generation, you need a hard spend cap and explicit model pinning so the agent can't "upgrade itself" overnight—and he asks how others enforce this on Claude batches.
