Devin agents can now spawn managed Devins of their own, branching tasks into multi-level trees
DevinAI · x · 2026-10-09
Cognition's Devin announced that Devins can start managed Devins of their own, letting one task branch into a tree several levels deep.
The logic is parallelization: sequential work takes as long as all its parts combined, while tree-structured delegation takes roughly as long as its slowest branch. Task size thus stops being a reason to postpone work — bigger tasks simply produce bigger Devin trees.
