Open Nshipyard Turns Canada's Unusable Public Data Into 23 Open-Source, Agent-Ready Datasets

RichardsonDx · x · 2026-10-09

Open Nshipyard is an open-source project that cleans messy Canadian civic data into usable infrastructure: 722,000 hand-entered street-name variants across Toronto parking tickets, 57.8% non-numeric building-permit cost fields, retired 311 taxonomies, and broken census boundaries. It ships explorer UIs plus documented APIs and MCP tools for AI agents—one repo per dataset, versioned releases. Offshoots include a map of Toronto's 50 million parking tickets.
