Qwen 2.1 Turbo hands-on: 8-step images in 6.9s, 5x faster than Qwen Image 2.1
b4silio · reddit · 2026-10-09
Reddit user b4silio benchmarked the newly announced Qwen 2.1 Turbo on a Blackwell 6000 Pro against Iris 3B and Krea 2 Turbo. At 1024x1536, Qwen Image 2.1 takes 35.0s (40 steps), Qwen 2.1 Turbo just 6.9s (8 steps), Iris 3B 59.4s (100 steps), and Krea 2 Turbo 26.6s (8 steps). Quality-wise, Turbo is less finished/detailed with weaker prompt following than standard QI2.1, but it avoids QI2.1's slightly over-cooked crispness—arguably better in many cases.
