Ultra: no ChatGPT moment for robotics without robots, OP1 built for scaled deployment
hausman_k · x · 2026-10-09
Ultra co-founder Jon Schwartz argues there can be no "ChatGPT moment" for robotics without actual robots deployed, so the company chose to deploy before it was comfortable, learning from real customers and field chaos.
Those lessons shaped OP1, a robot designed from the ground up for scaled deployment. Through repetition Ultra built the operational muscle for installing, operating, and servicing robots — arguing deployment, not demos, is the industry's biggest bottleneck.
