Deno team joins Cloudflare; founder wants Workers model as default server-side code
ritakozlov · x · 2026-10-09
Deno founder Ryan Dahl announced that the entire Deno company is joining Cloudflare.
He describes the Cloudflare Workers programming model as a hermetic computing abstraction that embodies "The Network Is the Computer," with Kenton's abstractions forcing scalability — akin to a distributed high-level operating system. Its only major problem: it practically only runs inside Cloudflare.
His goal: make the Workers programming model the default way to write server-side application code, runnable anywhere.
