Dev explains Rei, a tiny model that scores search results for research agents
gnukeith · x · 2026-10-09
Instead of plain Search API + LLM, gnukeith argues a search engine ranks results for everyone typing the same query, while Rei judges each result against your exact question, so your model spends tokens only on results that matter to you.
Rei is a Jev-style model that plugs into your agent: hand it a search result plus a question, and it returns a probability the agent can act on — is this relevant, worth digging into, a duplicate, or does the question need fresh info?
