HSBC to cut about 70% of UK financial advisers, shifting clients to AI-backed service

Per the Financial Times, HSBC plans to cut roughly 70% of its UK financial advisers, moving wealth clients toward AI-backed digital service. About half of the unit's management and specialist roles would also go, people familiar with the plans said — a landmark example of a major bank restructuring wealth management around AI.
