cellmatik: a Rust one-binary cell gateway giving your agent a real phone number
TheZachMueller · x · 2026-10-09
A new open-source repo, cellmatik, is a single-binary cellular gateway in Rust built around a Quectel LTE modem (RM520N-GL or SIM7600G-H) behind a LAN HTTP/JSON API carrying SMS, voice, and MMS—letting you give an AI agent a real phone number. One static binary, one TOML config, one SQLite file, no runtime deps beyond libc. SMS is handled end-to-end in PDU mode with GSM-7/UCS-2 and concatenated messages as first-class citizens, per-segment delivery tracking rolling up via +CDS status reports, and a total decoder that never panics on malformed PDUs. Hardware: a Waveshare 4G/5G Pi HAT.
