Computer architecture legend and Turing Award winner David Patterson laid out an aggressive timeline in response to talk of a coming 3-day work week: the transition to full unemployment will be "too fast" for gradual policies to matter. He expects economic output to keep rising through 2027-28 while people still work, then rapid job replacement by SI (superintelligence) and robots in 2029-30, paired with very fast economic growth.
