OpenAI stands by firing three AI safety researchers over 'significant breach of trust'
The Verge AI · rss · 2026-10-09
OpenAI is standing firm on firing safety researchers Jasmine Wang, Tomek Korbak and Mikita Balesni, saying an investigation found a 'significant breach of trust' and violations of 'clear policies on handling sensitive information.' The company insists the dismissals were not about the trio speaking out on AI safety, in a direct response to their open letter urging transparency.
