ByteDance merges TRAE into one workbench: orchestrate multiple agents from idea to delivery
量子位 · wechat · 2026-10-09
ByteDance's AI coding tool TRAE has merged Trae Code and Trae Work into a unified product with two modes: an Agent mode (a global workbench where multiple agents run tasks in parallel) and an IDE mode (SOLO/classic IDE), switchable with one click.
QbitAI's hands-on tests included three agents接力 completing a 3D pelican-on-bicycle demo (build, test, fix); a non-programmer building a playable 3D dungeon map editor end-to-end; three agents handling architecture docs, bug fixes, and regression tests on a legacy project while respecting strict role boundaries; and simultaneously producing a PRD, web demo, and review deck. All artifacts live in a shareable "My Artifacts" hub, with Feishu/WeChat @TRAE integration and mobile sync.
The piece notes this mirrors Cursor 3's Agents Window and Claude Code's Agent View: coding tools are converging on combining agent management and code editing, shifting humans toward task decomposition and coordination.
