User slams AI assistant Dots for forgetting tasks; says Grok Bot is far better
koltregaskes · x · 2026-10-09
A heavy user's critique of X's AI assistant Dots: it's far from a true personal AI assistant, with little visible improvement.
The core failure is task amnesia: after hours of assigning small and large tasks, Dots drops old tasks and only handles newer ones, requiring constant repetition to resume prior work. He argues the backend needs a Linear-style task-tracking system (todos, projects, initiatives), and that personality should remain user-controllable. In his experience, Grok Bot handles this far better.
