Per-token cost of Claude Pro's Opus subscription works out the same as DeepSeek Flash
teortaxesTex · x · 2026-10-09
A calculation circulating on X argues that when you amortize a Claude Pro subscription across its included usage, the per-token price of Opus comes out roughly equal to DeepSeek V4.1 Flash's metered rate — subscribers effectively get billions of tokens. Using it through Claude Code further improves token efficiency, making DeepSeek look less cost-competitive by comparison. The author also wonders what margins Anthropic makes on these plans.
