Deedy argues AGI is here as LLMs reportedly make progress on 4 of 7 Millennium Prize Problems

FinanceYF5 recaps Deedy's thread on OpenAI's latest math results release:
- LLMs have reportedly made substantive progress on 4 of the 7 Millennium Prize Problems: Navier–Stokes (claimed progress), Riemann Hypothesis, Hodge Conjecture, and Birch–Swinnerton-Dyer. Poincaré was solved in 2003; P vs NP and Yang–Mills remain open.
- Each result used only 3 hours of thinking compute on average, running on an unreleased model. Two years ago models claimed 9.11 > 9.9; the key caveat is that results still need verification.
- New model generations arrive roughly every 3 months with substantive intelligence gains, showing data, compute, and algorithms can keep scaling.
- Under the standard definition of AGI (surpassing humans on nearly all cognitive tasks), Deedy concludes AGI has arrived. Remaining human-strong areas—robotics/physical control, natural science research, creative writing and film/music, very long tasks, problem selection, interpersonal management—are limited more by data, creativity, and context than by raw intelligence.
