Per a Mashable exclusive, Anthropic has updated its usage policy for the first time in over a year: it now prohibits sustained "abusive or cruel behavior" toward Claude and adds restrictions on propaganda campaigns, surveillance, and weapon development. The framing that yelling at an inanimate model counts as "cruelty" is drawing pushback from users who find it offensive to real victims of abuse.
