RDMA NIC startup Henghan Micro raises ~$14M angel round to challenge Nvidia's 95% share in China

Chengdu-based Henghan Micro closed a ¥100M angel round to build domestic RDMA smart NICs for AI clusters, targeting Nvidia ConnectX's 95% market share as export controls stretch CX-7 lead times to 6 months.
- Its first 400G RDMA NIC has passed sampling/validation and won formal orders from mid-size model training/inference firms and AI token factories
- Differentiator: a credit-based proactive congestion control scheme where receivers grant transfer quotas before congestion occurs, claiming 1/2–1/3 the dynamic latency of Nvidia CX-7 in some tests, plus programmable queues
- Gen 1 uses FPGA for fast market entry; 800G and 1.6T follow-ups will use in-house ASIC, extending from Scale-up toward Scale-out and a unified "Scale-mix" architecture
- 15-person team from ZTE Microelectronics, HiSilicon, Alibaba, and Tencent
