Claude Startups pauses Team plan and $1,000 API credits after 21x application surge
claudeai · x · 2026-10-09
Anthropic is pausing the Claude Team plan and $1,000 API credit offers in its Claude Startups program after receiving 21x more applications in 48 hours than in the prior five months. It admits acceptance criteria were poorly tuned, letting in many non-startups, and is re-reviewing pending applications—some previously approved accounts will lose access.
Already-claimed offers remain; the Startup Stack (up to $45,000 in discounts from Linear, Lovable, ElevenLabs, Granola, Hex) and Applied AI office hours continue for accepted members.
