Anthropic adds 'don't abuse Claude' to Usage Policy, with conversation termination as main enforcement
rohanpaul_ai · x · 2026-10-09
- Anthropic has updated its Usage Policy to explicitly prohibit abusive behavior toward Claude models.
- The primary enforcement is Claude ending the conversation — already possible on Claude.ai and Claude Code for persistently abusive users — rather than an account ban.
- Since it's now part of the Usage Policy, general enforcement for policy violations (throttling, suspension, or termination) could in principle still apply.
