Bostrom: humans imagining AI's upside is like apes imagining human life

In an interview, Nick Bostrom argues humans may be as incapable of imagining AI's upside as great apes are of imagining human life. He notes a global sentiment gradient—US on the negative extreme, China far more excited—and says a large share of the upside lies in "unlocking new ways to be human, new possible modes of being," beyond what apes deliberating evolution could foresee ("unlimited bananas").
