sull: nothing is truly closed source, but server-side code is still worth sealing
sull · x · 2026-10-09
Replying to naval, sull argues nothing is truly closed source now that models can decompile code, saving hundreds of hours — but open vs hardened is about span of time and risk during it. He suggests open-sourcing libs, open core, ref clients, even skills/prompts/docs, while sealing customer-facing server-side code as proprietary, since competent developers can clone the product anyway.
