Former OpenAI recruiting staffer jasminewang says she was granted mailbox access for recruiting, asked IT to revoke it when no longer needed, and IT never acted. After she mistakenly opened a sensitive email, she reported it within minutes and asked again — then was fired over the access. Kelsey Tuoc calls the firing pretextual and says it undermines confidence in OpenAI's basic corporate security practices like adjusting employee access on role changes.
