Claude Code deletes session transcripts after 30 days — one setting keeps them 10 years

Claude Code by default wipes your session transcripts after 30 days, permanently. To retain them longer (e.g., 10 years), add "cleanupPeriodDays": 3650 to your settings.. A simple but easily missed config for anyone treating Claude Code sessions as archival records.
