Anthropic's new usage policy bans sustained abusive behavior toward Claude
kimmonismus · x · 2026-10-09
Anthropic's updated usage policy explicitly bans "sustained and needless abusive or cruel behavior" toward its models. Per The Verge, ending the conversation remains the main enforcement mechanism. The rule targets extreme, repeated cruelty with no discernible purpose; ordinary frustration, pushback, and dark creative themes are excluded. Users have previously noticed Claude ending conversations in milder exchanges, which may intensify.
