Green on OpenAI Leak: No Cryptanalysis Breakthroughs, But Frontier Labs Are Trying

Matthew Green notes that, as others observed, the big OpenAI dump contains no major cryptanalysis results. But he cautions that anyone believing frontier labs aren't paying cryptanalysts to attack these problems with internal models is "very wrong" — the absence of public breakthroughs doesn't mean closed-door efforts don't exist, though they may indeed be achieving nothing.
