Johns Hopkins cryptographer Matthew Green followed up on a widely retweeted claim that frontier labs employing cryptanalysts with internal AI models mean "we might lose public key cryptography." He considered deleting the viral reply to avoid panic, but chose to lay out his full reasoning: he isn't predicting it will happen, yet he would be surprised if non-classified human cryptanalysis done by a few dozen people turned out to be the ceiling forever.
