Per The Guardian, 16-year-old Bryce Vincent Gowryluk asked Claude to plan a route to Crown Mountain near Vancouver. The AI's directions led him off-course onto the headwall of the Widowmaker Arete, a 1,700-foot climbing route requiring ropes and experience he didn't have. North Shore Rescue evacuated him. The incident adds to concerns over relying on digital maps and AI for wilderness navigation.
