Ex-OpenAI Staff Defend Fired Safety Researchers: Show Proof, Not Insinuations

OpenAI safety researcher Balesni says he and two colleagues were fired last week for prioritizing safety over the company's near-term interests, and published a joint letter to leadership. Former superalignment member Daniel Kokotajlo voiced support, arguing nothing justified the terminations, that OpenAI should present evidence instead of insinuations, and comparing the episode to the equity dispute two years ago and Leopold Aschenbrenner's firing.
