How the OpenAI sensitive email incident happened, per the employee
j_asminewang · x · 2026-10-09
The employee explains: OpenAI delegated the inbox access for recruiting; her request to IT to remove it went unactioned, she couldn't remove it herself, and the inbox was merged indistinguishably in her mail app. She notified the executive within minutes of opening a sensitive email by mistake — "none of this was hidden."
