Former OpenAI superalignment researcher Tom Davidson pushed back at someone relitigating old fast-takeoff debates: "If you thought this was what fast takeoff looked like, you also failed to convey that." He urged them to stop relitigating old beefs — "the people who followed those debates are trying to avoid AI takeover; it is people with far less context that oppose a slowdown."
