The Financial Times reports OpenAI's annualized revenue is nearing $50B, roughly $20B below the $70B figure investors had circulated. The gap comes from differing accounting: Anthropic includes revenue from customers buying its models via AWS and Google Cloud, while OpenAI leaves that money out; to compare fairly, OpenAI's investors added their own estimate of cloud-sale revenue on top.
