The Paper (paper.design) team released Paper Mono v1.0, a free, open-source monospace font, unveiled alongside an interactive 3D magazine built with Three.js showcasing artist Agus Egui's work.
Key features:
- 659 characters, 800 glyphs, 8 weights, with a variable font axis (100-800) for fine-tuning
- Designed for headlines, UI, prose and code alike: coding ligatures, duospacing for long-form text, and optional stylistic sets (slashed zero, single-story a)
- 128 box-drawing characters and 32 blocks for building tables, diagrams and progress bars directly in text
- Carefully drawn numerals and symbols
The team says they made it because they couldn't find a monospace font they liked.
