The author delivered the opening tutorial at the 2026 NSF AI-SDM Human-AI Complementarity Workshop: "Bidirectional Human-AI Alignment: From Static Preferences to Dynamic Human-AI Complementarity", with all materials and a video recording publicly available.
- Core idea: alignment is not a one-way, one-shot fitting of AI to fixed human preferences, but a dynamic, mutual process — aligning AI with humans while helping humans understand, audit, and collaborate with AI.
- The work grew out of the team's BiAlign position paper at NeurIPS 2025 and now spans a series including a NeurIPS tutorial and an ICLR 2025 workshop.
