Thrixel launches AI 3D creation engine that lets coding agents build editable, interactive 3D worlds
RanaHanocka · x · 2026-10-09
Professor Rana Hanocka has founded Thrixel, a 3D AI startup positioning itself as the 3D creation engine for the agentic era.
What it does
- Generates structured 3D assets from text or images, usable in-browser with no install
- Assets come with full object hierarchies: parts are intelligently grouped and labeled so both humans and AI agents can directly control them
- Conversational iterative editing, asset version history and branching
- Plugs into coding agents like Claude Code, Codex and Cursor via a build-world skill — run /thrixel:build-world to have your agent build interactive 3D worlds
Target applications span games, simulations and beyond. The team comes from Hanocka's decade of 3D AI research, with early users including Look North World (founded by Bungie's Alex Seropian) and Jakkal Games.
